Flame-faced tanager, Rio Ñambi, Colombia 7am, just a few minutes in, and this bird instantly made me forget about our horrible night. The day already a success, anything extra is a plus from here on.       Same here, typical on this trip was 5 - 5:30 am, mostly needed for birds. Whilst not a morning person, it's easier to get up during travel because I sleep more, not less. Posted 6 years ago

The Flame-faced tanager

The flame-faced tanager is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is found in the eastern Andes of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
