  1. Looks like some sort of alder? Alnus rubra maybe? hmmm Posted 6 years ago, modified 6 years ago
    1. It does, thanks! I'm going back tomorrow and will get a shot of the leaves, if they've appeared yet. Posted 6 years ago
    2. I tried Pl@ntnet on this one and indeed it suggests Alnus glutinosa, with a very high rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. Not sure if that's right because it's a European species but Alnus looks likely. Posted 6 years ago
      1. Thanks Ferdy for the input!

I'm definitely thinking Alnus, but can't decide if it could be A. incana or A. serrulata. Or, a different species, lol. I'm uploading a shot of a leaf in a minute...It hadn't totally leafed out yet though.

        1. I think A. rubra is still possible, but it's out of range. Although it is recorded in the NE on iNat. Posted 6 years ago

I'll be back at this location in a couple weeks and will try to get a better shot.

            1. Plantnet on just the leaf gives back Carpinus sp. with low confidence, probably not useful. Posted 6 years ago
