  1. OUTSTANDING! I'm in love with this little guy! Posted 6 years ago
    1. I like it too! It's the only individual of this species we've seen across 5 nights and 3 locations. Not suggesting it is rare, just a very explicit looking one. Posted 6 years ago
  2. Wow, it's beautiful!! Posted 6 years ago
    1. Maybe something in the Subfamily Chalcosiinae? Posted 6 years ago
      1. Or, check out the similarities in Notodontidae:

        1. Oricia sp., Tithraustes sp., Nebulosa sp. and others are close. But, no matches yet. This Tithraustes sp. is close, yet not:

Even some tiger moths are similar, but that would be a stretch imo.

          1. Those do come quite close in overall shape. I'll look at your suggestions more thoroughly tomorrow, want to give it proper time. Posted 6 years ago
          2. Oh sorry, coming back to this comment it turns out you had already suggested Nebulosa. My brilliant detective work wasn't that brilliant lol. Posted 6 years ago
            1. It was still brilliant! I was leaning towards Tithraustes sp. until you found that link. Posted 6 years ago
              1. Oh, and you probably didn't see the Nebulosa suggestion because it wasn't in my initial comment...I added it in along with my remark about tiger moths possibly after you read my suggestions. Posted 6 years ago
                1. So I was brilliant after all, nice! Posted 6 years ago
