Soldier Beetle (Atalantycha neglecta) I&#039;m not 100 percent on this ID, but I know I&#039;m pretty close. Definitely a soldier beetle (I actually mistook it for a firefly at first DOH)!<br /> <br /> And, yep, I know I could have used more lighting here. I grabbed a hasty shot when I got home yesterday, and I&#039;m glad I at least got this one (it flew off soon after). On my front porch. Soldier Beetle (Atalantycha neglecta)

I'm not 100 percent on this ID, but I know I'm pretty close. Definitely a soldier beetle (I actually mistook it for a firefly at first DOH)!
