Remnants of Tussock Moth Pupal Cocoon This photo has a lot going on. There are tunnels with frass, probably created by wood-boring beetle larvae. There&#039;s a hatched, red spider (Phrurotimpus sp.) egg sac way over to the right.  There&#039;s spider silk. And, there&#039;s also the remnants of a tussock moth (Lymantriidae) pupal cocoon (2 hairy circles in the center). <br />

This photo has a lot going on. There are tunnels with frass, probably created by wood-boring beetle larvae. There's a hatched, red spider (Phrurotimpus sp.) egg sac way over to the right. There's spider silk. And, there's also the remnants of a tussock moth (Lymantriidae) pupal cocoon (2 hairy circles in the center).
