Wood Ear - Auricularia angiospermarum Old, crusty, ear-shaped fruiting body.<br />

Same as seen here, but a couple months later.  There are three fruiting bodies in the photo below, the one in the photo above is the one on the right. The other two must have fallen off or gotten eaten:<br />

Until recently, the North American species of Wood Ear was considered to be Auricularia auricula-judae. However, research has shown that Auricularia auricula-judae is not endemic to North America.<br />
