
Wood Borer Moth Frass
Larvae of wood boring moths (Sesiidae or Cossidae) leave distinctive piles of frass under the bark of host trees. The frass pellets are cylindrical in shape. I believe this frass was left by clearwing moth larvae (Sesiidae) because the pellets were only a couple mm long.
Habitat: Under the bark of a snag in a mixed forest
