We stayed at the Barefoot at Havelock Resort and these little fellows were pretty common in the forest around our cabin. This is my best guess at identification, although I await the judgement of our resident Herp master, John Sullivan.

    1. Well I doubt if I would have ever heard of them if it wasn't for Sherlock Holmes. Yes, in the second Sherlock Holmes novel, A Sign of Four, a penal colony on the Andaman Islands (as part of the British colony of India) features rather prominently in the story. I read it as a teenager and it sounded like the most exotic place imaginable. I never dreamed that I would ever go there. So I was immediately excited when my wife suggested it as part of an Indian trip! And it is amazing - not really so much for reptiles as for birds and fish.
