  1. Dr. Harsha, this bird is not Black redstart. The Black restart is greyish-black, but never blue. It looks like Plumbeous water redstart (Phoenicurus fuliginosus), but I wonder how it could happen to be seen in France? It is native to South Asia and China?

    1. I have found the right subspecies - Phoenicurus ochruros gibraltariensis. But still the record is for the main scientific name. Posted 10 months ago

The Black Redstart ''Phoenicurus ochruros'' is a small passerine bird in the redstart genus ''Phoenicurus''. Like its relatives, it was formerly classed as a member of the Thrush family , but is now known to be an Old World flycatcher .
