
Corydalus armatus - jaws, La Planada Nature Reserve, Colombia
Another appearance of this enormous dobsonfly, just like the night before. Possibly it is the same individual. Nickname the "party crasher" as it clears big stretches of the cloth of any moths.
The oversized jaws of these clumsy giants do nothing at all, they are not used for feeding or stinging, instead a way to attract mates.
