We arrived in Palau yesterday and it is just wonderful. Besides its amazing scenery, it has a large number of endemics, including this lovely fruit-dove, which is also the national bird! They can be heard constantly, usually camouflaged high in trees. But this one (which I've named Caroline) keeps returning to a bush right by our bungalow, either nesting or foraging for something it really likes, which is how I got such great views!
