  1. Similar to Hymenia sp., but not. Hmm. Posted 6 years ago
    1. Thanks! That certainly is good genus. I ploughed through all of Kay's moths as well as Moths of the Andes without anything looking close. Posted 6 years ago
      1. I did as well. This is a tough one! Posted 6 years ago
        1. No luck on FB either, running out of options. Perhaps we'll run into it one day. Posted 6 years ago
          1. Or, maybe it's undescribed. You are a mothing pioneer in Colombia! Posted 6 years ago
            1. It does seem several are reported in surrounding countries yet not Colombia, not because they aren't there, nobody bothered.

When I'm done with the total list, I will replace all those numbers with meaningful titles (species/genus), it should help in making them more findable from Google. I'll also make a separate unidentified list, should be easier to handle than the current method.

And it really is a list WE built, you identified the vast majority of them, high five!

              1. Sounds great. You should make and frame a big collage of the best of the Colombia moths. Was this already suggested? Sounds familiar. Posted 6 years ago
                1. Yes, that's the "Mothopia" project I had in mind. I'm planning to start on it once they are all shared. Posted 6 years ago
                  1. Fantastic :) Posted 6 years ago
  2. They may be a new species. I venture to guess it's a geometrid. Larentiinae. Posted 6 years ago
    1. Thanks, Andre! It would explain why we can't find anything remotely similar. Posted 6 years ago
  3. Geometridae, Ennominae, Melanoscia sp. and Melanoscia thiaucourti or Melanoscia thiaucourti group. Seems to be a complex of moths. Posted 6 years ago
    1. That is very impressive, as nobody could find anything remotely close. How did you find it, if I may ask? Posted 6 years ago
  4. Checking Ennominae on bold looking for a white apex, which is not really common or luck :-) Posted 6 years ago
