First caddisfly of the season: Glyphopsyche irrorata

Glyphopsyche irrorata, a northern caddisfly. This is the earliest date so far that I have for this species appearance the previous one being April 25.

  They're a difficult group I find. Not many guide books on caddisflies except for very technical ones. I'll be out again tonight looking for more of these and moths. It was a mild day again and should remain so for a few hours after sunset. Posted 6 years ago
