Amastus coccinator, La Planada Nature Reserve, Colombia

Sorry for the poor crop. The problem on this night was a ditch in between the cloth and us. Either we would stand in the streaming rain with our gear or we would cross the ditch and be too close to the cloth for the photo, not allowing space to crop or rotate as seen here.

      That's the species I was thinking as well. The color doesn't quite match, but it's probably variable; and, I couldn't find any other species that were close enough. Posted 6 years ago
