
Found in Costa Rica and Panama in cloud forests at elevations of 600 meters on tree trunks as a medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with ovoid, rugose pseudobulbs enveloped basally and sometimes obscured by inflated, sheaths with the uppermost being leaf-bearing and carrying a single apical, coriaceous, elliptic, obtuse to rounded leaf with an elongate, conduplicate petiole that blooms in the spring and fall on a basal, 5 3/4" to 8" [14 to 20 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence enveloped completely.. more
