Cordyceps curculionum - closeup, La Planada Nature Reserve, Colombia First cordyceps species I found myself. Which was terribly easy in this case, as it was stuck to a planted stem in the orchid garden of La Planada Nature Reserve. I think the steep angle is interesting. Given that the weevil is clearly dead, it must have been manipulated into some permanent death grip before the cordyceps could complete its lifecycle.<br />
