  3. Not at all! I am glad you did as the Malachite is from the African main continent and this one was is Madagascar (miss it yet??). so even if still incorrect, it is nearer the right one and yes I agree...soooo many looking alike! Posted 12 years ago

The Malagasy kingfisher or Madagascar kingfisher is a species of bird in the family Alcedinidae that is found in Madagascar, and Mayotte. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical mangrove forests. It is closely related to the malachite kingfisher which is widely distributed in mainland Africa.
