Buff-breasted mountain tanager, La Cocha, Colombia
Our 2nd morning in the Páramo started cold and foggy. Rather than going for target birds, we roamed around to capture anything interesting. Sorry for the obstructed shot, I don't have a better one.
This is likely the taeniate sub species, which occurs in South Colombia only. It occurs between 2,200m and 3,400m. This bird is heard more often than seen. When hearing it, it goes like ziuuu-ziuu :)

The buff-breasted mountain tanager is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is found in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
