Dalea purpurea
Dalea purpurea (Purple Prairie Clover) leaves. Small dots on the leaves are probably some sort of glandular structure. Plants were grown from seeds collected from a roadside population in Duluth, MN that has been in existence since at least the 1930s.
Dalea purpurea is a species of flowering plant in the legume family (Fabacaea) known by the common name purple prairie clover, better written as "prairie-clover", in recognition of the fact that it is not a true clover.
