
Bare-faced ibis, La Cocha, Colombia
The most frequently seen Ibis in Colombia yet uncommon at higher altitudes. It is listed as occurring < 2,600m yet here we are at 3,000m. They typically occur in larger groups. This one was part of a group of about a dozen, but we failed the group shot :)

The bare-faced ibis, also known as the whispering ibis, is a species of bird in the family Threskiornithidae, in the monotypic genus "Phimosus". It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Suriname, Uruguay, and Venezuela. Its natural habitat is swamps.
