    1. Lol, you're right. It's Thamnophis sirtalis sirtalis!

      This snake was in the middle of the trail when my kids and I came upon it. When it saw us, it naturally slithered away to hide in the grass. My younger son asked why it was hiding from us, and my older son replied that it was because the snake was afraid that Mommy would try to snuggle it ;P
