1. Did you see the underside? are you sure this is a polypore? I have an idea (actually the non-resupinate form of what I'm about to post I think), but it isn't a polypore. Posted 5 years ago
1. Lemme check... Posted 5 years ago
1. I just uploaded a shot of the underside. It looks fuzzy. So, not a polypore, lol.

1. I'd probably lean towards Hymenochaete sp. then? Without the substrate I don't think we can narrow it down completely.

1. Cool, thanks. My guess would be oak, but I definitely can't say for certain. Posted 5 years ago
1. Hymenochaete rubiginosa if on oak. If on other, maybe H. tabacina? Posted 5 years ago
2. PS. You had another post (on facebook) that was old and dried up that I think may also be Hymenochaete sp. I think you thought it was Phlebia sp.? I couldn't find it here though... Posted 5 years ago
1. I don't remember that at all. Is it this one:
Wrinkled Crust - Phlebia radiata When I came upon this log, I could see some orange peeking out from the underside. I flipped it over and was shocked by the vibrant color! I'm thinking that maybe the recent rain perked it up because it's usually a more subtle shade of pinkish orange.

Description: Orange crust fungus with an irregular outline and a wrinkled surface, in which the wrinkles radiate from a more or less central point.

Habitat: Rotting log in a mostly deciduous forest
1. Just got it and I totally agree. Now I just have to figure out if I ever posted it on JD. Posted 5 years ago
1. I didn't see it anywhere in your Unidentified list or in the Phlebia or Hymenochaete folders Posted 5 years ago
2. This one is definitely Phlebia! Posted 5 years ago
1. Thanks!
