Green-backed hillstar, Trampoline of Death, Colombia This species is sometimes also referred to as the White-tailed Hillstar. My understanding is that this was before it was split from Urochroa bougueri.<br />

    You may have mentioned this, but did you take this road because it was the way to get to where you were going; or, did you take this road because it's great for birding?

    1. Thanks. Basically, both. As far as I know, it's the only way to get to La Cocha from our starting point. And whilst crossing this giant altitude change, we might as well do some birding (and some butterflies). It's not ideal though, very tricky conditions for photography due to the steepness and mist, and you don't have a great sense of being in the wild. Posted 6 years ago
