Feralia major Feralia major (Major Sallow Moth). This one is a bit atypical for the species and it took me a while to be convinced that my id was right. I kept switching the name from F. major to Acronicta fallax.  There seems to be a good deal of variation in the markings across the range of Feralia major. Check these sites to see more:<br />

Feralia major

The major sallow is a species of moth of the Noctuidae family. It is found from the northeastern parts of the United States west across the southern boreal forest to western Alberta. The exact southern range is uncertain, as populations from the southeastern USA south to Texas are brighter blue-green and appear to be a separate species.
