Giant Landslide, Trampoline of Death, Colombia Here&#039;s the aftermath of a large natural landslide found in Southern Colombia as seen from the Trampoline of Death road between Mocoa and La Cocha. This region is plagued by landslides that are typically caused by the steepness of the terrain combined with heavy rainfall. <br />

This region of the Andes has some of the largest drops, consider an altitude change from 500m to 5,500m in a mere 50-100km of distance. Such drops are only found in the Himalayas and here.<br />
<br />
In 2017, a large landslide wrecked the town of Mocoa, leaving hundreds dead. Deforestation can also be a cause of landslides, but in this instance it doesn&#039;t look to be a factor.<br />
