Lantern gathering
First time to find so many Lantern Bugs - Pyrops sultana in a single tree!
There were more than 10 of them on the lower branch of the tree, probably more of them in the higher branch.
This picture also shows the dark and lighter variations of the same Pyrops species.
Pyrops sultana is mostly white in colour with red/brown snout. Contrary to popular beliefs that their snout glows at night, hence their name, Lantern Bugs, that is not the case. The snout does not glow or give out light at night.
