Arthonia radiata (Asterisk Lichen) growing on the smooth bark of a sapling sized balsam fir about 1 meter above the ground on the north side near the edge of the forest.

Arthonia radiata is with smooth thallu, greyish white crust with embedded, black, variable but usually irregularly stellate apothecia (typically 1-2mm in diameter); ascospores 3-septate.
