Rare Shadow Bands: Total Eclipse Phenomenon

Shadows of leaves on the ground? Nope! These are actually an example of the extremely rare phenomenon called shadow “snakes” or bands. There are some theories, but no definitive evidence as to what they are. It may very well be one of science’s greatest mysteries! I had done my reading before the trip and was absolutely STOKED that we got to see it when it’s so rare. At first i thought it was just leaves too, but to our surprise they started rippling, and there were no trees!
