    1. The book doesn't say, sorry. I went to look for the answer, but no result yet, it's a pretty obscure bird. Did learn a new fact in my search: the only tanager with yellow eyes. Posted 6 years ago

The deep-blue flowerpiercer , also known as the golden-eyed flowerpiercer, is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is found in humid Andean forests in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. It is the only species of flowerpiercer with bright yellow eyes.
