Black-crowned Night Heron, Polonnaruwa Sri Lanka

This was photographed on a small rock island in the middle of a reservoir, dubbed 'bird island' due to the many birds that inhabit it. Some of these include ibis, egret, lapwing, and herons. Many of the ibis were breeding and there were many broods.
