Oriental Green-wing, Kanneliya, Sri Lanka

''Neurobasis chinensis'' is a species of damselfly found in tropical Asia. Males have a very iridescent hindwing which is flashed in display to females and maintain their territories along stretches of moderately fast-flowing streams. The hindwing is brown on the underside but bright iridescent green on the upperside. The colour is produced by interference from the thin surfaces of the wing membrane.
