Anthurium formosum, Araceae - plant
The leaf in the centre is a new leaf and the veins will become more prominent with maturity. The flower with its violet-pink-backed white spathe and violet-pink spadix is just visible.
Anthurium formosum is distributed from Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia. This plant was photographed on the trail at Montezuma Rain Forest lodge, Tatamá National Park at around 2,500 m elevation. The habitat is wet and cool.
