Northern tamandua, Costa Rica I know, this one is terribly out of focus, but it is the only one I have of an Ant Eater. We spotted this wild one from a river boat. It is very unusual to spot one during the day, especially in the trees. Anteater,Costa Rica,Mammals,Northern tamandua,Tamandua mexicana Click/tap to enlarge Species introCountry intro

The northern tamandua is a species of tamandua, an anteater in the family Myrmecophagidae. They live in tropical and subtropical forests from southern Mexico, through Central America, and to the edge of the northern Andes.
