Maxillaria speciosa, Orchidaceae Photographed near Montezuma Rain Forest lodge on the road up the mountain at around 2,500 m altitude. This is a cloud forest habitat where it is wet buoyant and cool. Plants can grow into large clumps, carrying 30-40 spidery flowers that have a pleasant fragrance, similar to frangipani.<br />
