    1. Thanks. Resupinatus alboniger is a close lookalike, but it has smoother pilei (caps).
      Resupinatus alboniger On the underside of a rotting hardwood log in a dense mixed forest. Most fruiting bodies are resupinate, but I found one rather large one with a prominent pseudostem(?). Pileus is smooth.<br />

"Resupinatus applicatus", commonly known as the smoked oysterling or the black jelly oyster, is a species of fungus in the family Tricholomataceae, and the type species of the genus "Resupinatus".
