
Hygrophorus hypothejus
Habitat: Growing in moss and soil in a clearing at the edge of a primarily coniferous forest (with some hardwoods).
Gill surface: decurrent, white to pale yellow, regularly spaced lammelulae
Stipe: white, wet to slimy
Pileus: planar to depressed (in center), golden brown with darker center, covered in a thick layer of slime (see closeups of photos)
Spore print: white
Odor: Indistinct to pleasant (flowery)
Similar species: Agaricales
