Psygmorchis pumilio, Orchidaceae
Psygmorchis pumilio [also known as Erycina pumilio] is a miniature fan-shaped plant with inflorescence producing a series of single flowers that last for about 3 weeks. This was photographed growing on a guava tree at around 1,360 m altitude in a cloud forest habitat. The habitat is always humid and frequently wet, often experiencing afternoon rain.
This species is very widespread from SE Mexico to Panama, into many parts of northern South America that include Suriname, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil.
