Thin Walled Maze Polypore - Daedaleopsis confragosa
I'm not sure of my ID for this fungus...Usually the pores of Daedaleopsis confragosa bruise reddish brown, but the pores on this polypore bruised gray. This could be due to age, maybe? Also, it was growing on eastern hemlock (Tsuga canadensis), which is unusual for Daedaleopsis confragosa. The fruiting body was also a bit thicker than what I usually see for this species. I've posted it on MO for a second opinion.
Habitat: Mixed forest

"Daedaleopsis confragosa" is a species of polypore fungus in the family Polyporaceae. A plant pathogen, it causes a white rot of injured hardwoods, especially willows. The fruit bodies are semicircular and tough, have a concentrically zoned brownish upper surface, and measure up to 20 cm in diameter.
