False Coker's Lepidella - Amanita subcokeri
This large, white mushroom closely resembles Amanita cokeri, but has some key differences. It was very large (15 cm tall), white, and had both large and small warts on the cap. Pinkish-brown staining on the bulb and peeling scales right above the bulb. White gills. Shaggy stem and a double ring.
Amanita expert, Rod Tulloss, has provisionally named Amanita subcokeri as a similar species to Amanita cokeri.

A large, breathtaking mushroom that is often confused with Amanita cokeri. Amanita subcokeri can be distinguished by its unique odor, its tendency to stain pink, and by its small warts on the cap.
