Black-capped Chickadee - Poecile atricapillus
This adorable bird, was waiting for me at the birdbath this morning. It had a layer of ice on top of the water. The bird let me get super close before retreating to a nearby bush while I broke the ice so it could get a drink. I was amazed to see several birds bathing in another birdbath in the yard a few minutes later. It was about 25 degrees F (-4 degrees C) outside!
Habitat: Rural yard
