  1. Dwarf mongoose is on my list of 'must shoot' before i leave India... then again, i think everything is on my list! :S

    Great shot, although it makes me blush a little! It looks like the poor guy didn't see you coming and you caught him in the act... ;)

  2. Hmmm... i think you have miss-identified it... it think it is the H.auropunctatus (Small indian mongoose), an not the African variety! Posted 10 years ago

The small Asian mongoose is a species of mongoose found in the wild in South and Southeast Asia. It has also been introduced to Hawaii, Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola, Puerto Rico, Lesser Antilles, Belize, Honduras, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, Colombia, Suriname, Venezuela, Guyana and Mafia Island. The western subspecies group is sometimes treated as a separate species, the Indian mongoose or small Indian mongoose .
