Toco Toucan in the wild Although Serra da Canastra NP is full of strange and exotic creatures (a number of which I have posted here), there are also some more familiar ones - like this, the poster bird for Brazil, if not all of South America. Although Serra da Canastra NP is full of strange and exotic creatures (a number of which I have posted here), there are also some more familiar ones - like this, the poster bird for Brazil, if not all of South America. They are always great to see and we encountered a flock of about 10 - wonderful!

The toco toucan, also known as the common toucan or toucan, is the largest and probably the best known species in the toucan family. It is found in semi-open habitats throughout a large part of central and eastern South America.
