Brownish Tree Frog - pose, La Isla Escondida, Colombia

Found at night in La Isla Escondida. The black stripe on the mouth is only on one side, so could be some kind of damage.

  Hehe. In our experience, most tree frogs are pretty calm and tame, you can pick them up, study them, and they hardly resist. We prefer not handling them at all if the pose is good, and they typically let you come as close as you like. Posted 6 years ago

The head shape and radial lines in the eye are clues that this is Osteocephalus sp. I don't know which one off the top of my head though. Posted 6 years ago

  Note that not all Osteocephalus sp have those radial eye lines. One that does and is widespread in Colombia is Osteocephalus taurinus. That's my best guess at the moment. Posted 6 years ago
