Common Evening-Primrose - Oenothera biennis

Lemon-scented, 4-petaled, yellow flowers that are hermaphroditic. The flowers are produced on a many-flowered, tall, terminal spike and only bloom at night, closing by noon the next day. Hence the common name "evening primrose."

"Oenothera biennis" is a species of "Oenothera" native to eastern and central North America, from Newfoundland west to Alberta, southeast to Florida, and southwest to Texas, and widely naturalized elsewhere in temperate and subtropical regions.
