At the lodge we were staying at in the Brazilian Atlantic Coast Forest, they had moved the fruit table intended for the birds into a tree to keep it away from the tapirs (see South American Tapir). The common marmoset is a New World monkey. It originally lived on the Northeastern coast of Brazil, in the states of Piaui, Paraiba, CearĂ¡, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, Alagoas and Bahia.
