    1. Thank you Ferdy...I am surprised by how many are intros. Posted 6 years ago
      1. There's plenty more to capture! JD has 2,000 moths/butterflies combined, worldwide. I'd say about 1,000 are butterflies, at best. A subset of that worldwide 1,000 would be US species, I'm not sure how large it is, but I'd say far below the 500-600 species occurring in the US. It's very rough math but could be 100-200 still to go.

Your Canada coverage has even more potential for species intro, for the simple fact that we have few active Canadian users.

So...no need to get bored ;)

        1. I love the idea that there is plenty more to capture...can't wait for the warmer weather to get here. Posted 6 years ago
          1. Definitely, and also keep a broad eye across categories, but I know you already do so.

Furthermore, I do want to emphasize when a species is already on the site, you are strongly encouraged to keep adding your observations of that species. We're supposed to have multiple shots of species, it shows different angles, seasons, behavior, sexes, life stages...it's enriching.

It's a sport here to introduce species as it's quite a rewarding process, but don't hold back on existing species :)
