The Cock-tailed Tyrant doing what it does best This is a delightful little bird that loves to perch on prominent vegetation and yes, cock its tail up and down. I had never heard of it (easy to overlook in the Brazilian Birds guidebook) and when the guide identified it for me, I thought that she was saying the Cocktail Tyrant - which sounded really cool. Alas, the real name is more prosaic, but it stull is a fun little bird to observe, constantly posing and flicking its tail up and down. They are very active and hard to get a good picture of, but great fun to just sit back and watch. This is truly the goodwill ambassador of the Brazilian Cerrado as here at Serra da Canastra NP.
