Snow Fungus (Tremella fuciformis) Growing on a hardwood branch in a dense mixed forest.<br /> <br /> I&#039;m pretty sure this ID is right. I'm pretty sure this ID is right. This specimen has lost some of the strong curvature of its lobes, but I can still see remnants at the edges.

      Thank you! A first time find for me, so I was quite excited. I wish I had caught it a little fresher. The lobes weren't as visible as I would have liked, but it was still gorgeous. Posted 6 years ago

''Tremella fuciformis'' is a species of fungus; it produces white, frond-like, gelatinous basidiocarps . It is widespread, especially in the tropics, where it can be found on the dead branches of broadleaf trees. ''Tremella fuciformis'' is commonly known as snow fungus, snow ear, silver ear fungus, and white jelly mushroom.
