Deadly Galerina (Galerina marginata) Habitat: Growing on decaying hardwood (pushing through bark) at the top of a ridge in a dense mixed hardwood/coniferous forest in Northwest Georgia (Gordon County), US.<br />

Gill surface: pale orange to gold, shortly decurrent, slightly crowded<br />
<br />
Stipe: pale orange to brown near apex, darkening towards base; most are awkwardly bent (flimsy) due to growth under the bark of the substrate.<br />
<br />
Pilei: convex to planar, tacky/damp in texture, cinnamon orange (fading to paler orange with age)<br />
<br />
Odor: Sweet, pleasant<br />
