Jelly Babies - Leotia lubrica

Often called "jelly babies", these small mushrooms have a very gelatinous/rubbery texture. The semi-translucent orange-yellow caps were smooth and convoluted.

Habitat: Growing in moss in an old river bed in a mixed forest.

      Peanut Butter Cup Fungi - Galiella rufa Cup fungus that resembles a peanut butter cup! The cup is closed at first, but then opens to form a shallow cup. ''Leotia lubrica'', commonly referred to as a jelly baby, is a species of fungus in the family Leotiaceae. The species produces small fruit bodies up to 6 centimetres in height, featuring a "head" and a stalk.
